Cyber resilience across borders.
Full name of the project:
International Security Operations Centers for reducing the impact of Cybercrime
Project acronym: ISOC for RIC
Name of the SPF Beneficiary:
Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO)
The project connects organisations in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro around a common goal: stronger cybersecurity resilience and more coordinated protection of critical IT infrastructure across the programme area.
Key project figures.
Why the project matters
The project addresses the increasing threat of cybercrime targeting critical infrastructure in the region. Many organisations in the programme area lack the resources and expertise to defend against sophisticated cyber-attacks, while non-EU countries face additional challenges in aligning with EU-level cybersecurity standards.
The common challenge is to strengthen cybersecurity resilience across borders by improving real-time monitoring and protection for critical IT infrastructures. Cybercrime has no borders, so cooperation between organisations from the programme area supports a more coordinated and effective response.
The main objective is to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of micro and small enterprises by reducing the impact of cybercrime on business operations. The project plans an international Security Operations Center network connecting three SOCs across the programme area.
The expected change is stronger cybersecurity capability, faster detection and response, improved protection of critical sectors and wider alignment with EU standards, including the NIS2 framework. The project also aims to support business entities in meeting security conditions relevant to ISO 27001.
Planned infrastructure and project deliverables.
The project plan combines shared monitoring infrastructure, coordinated response capabilities and visibility activities across all three participating countries.
3 Security Operations Centres
Three interconnected SOCs are planned across Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, supporting coordinated monitoring, protection and joint action against cybercrime.
3 video walls
A video wall in each SOC is intended to improve real-time visibility of client infrastructures and support faster recognition of security events.
3 SIEM solutions
Three innovative SIEM software licences are planned across the SOC network, supporting real-time threat intelligence sharing, earlier threat detection and trap infrastructure designed to divert attacks away from real systems.
1 central server
A central server acquired by EGIDA Security Solutions is planned to connect the SOCs and support coordinated communication, monitoring and response.
3 conferences
One conference in each participating country is planned to present the SOCs, project progress and results to clients and stakeholders.
24/7 protection objective
The project objective includes stronger continuous protection of IT infrastructure and extension of EU cybersecurity practices across the programme area.
